Beat Bugs

Designed and painted for the Palo Alto Children’s Theater - Beat Bugs is a show about bugs who fight to protect their strawberry patch from getting sprayed with pesticides. I used well known logos and brands as backyard trash that the bugs repurposed for their lives. A lays potato chip bag becomes a cushion, ragu pasta sauce lid with popsicle sticks becomes a stage, a gatorade cap and straws become a table, a coca cola lid becomes a chair and a garden hose was made to add to the effect of a backyard garden. Oversized flowers and fruits, alongside “weeds” show the small scale of the bugs as they protect their beloved home.
