“Beautility” public art project in San Jose features 8 different artists, each of us painted 2 concrete vaults. I named this project “Imaginariums” - imaginary aquariums - featuring local aquatic life alongside native flowers. The California state fish, the garibaldi, swims in and out of a sea of California poppies, also the state flower. My second vault features sea urchins and a type of thistle, both of which are invasive and causing extreme shifts in their ecosystems.
